36 days. 864 hours. 51,840 minutes. That's A LOT OF TIME. Time to think, to create, to clean, to workout, to cook, to worry, to deny, to fear, to believe, to hope...TO BE.
And believe me, like all of you, I have done it all! Some days I have a ton of hope and some days I feel completely sad and it consumes me. Thankfully I don't have many of the sad days. For example today is a frustrating day. I'm still caught in the unenviable position of being caught in an unemployment loop with the state of NC which means nothing can progress. BUT, thankfully, Senator Davis office has been assisting, so I'm hopeful that after 5 weeks, I may get some financial relief soon! When all else fails, and it seems that a lot is...I still have to believe and have hope!
So, it's back to things I can control.
Like creating a new line of jewelry, the Primal Collection. I'm super excited about this line. It's raw-organic- primitive- uncommon- of the earth. Just like the mountains, the pieces are textural and bright just like the light play with the sun coming through the clouds, yet dark like the when in the deep of the forest. I feel a connection to this line unlike any other I've felt when creating pieces. They are imperfect and yet so elegant without even meaning to be. Can you tell I'm in love with them?? Made of Sterling Silver and Gold, the pieces are heavily textured ahead of the addition of the adding the Gold. Then very VERY heavily patina'd to add fantastic contrast in each piece. The pieces are perfect for everyday wear but unique enough to stand out! Click the link below to see the full collection.

No art for the weekend, unless you consider painting the interior walls art, lol. Mark is going to help, so the vaulted ceilings and walls will be a team effort. Look to my Facebook page for updates on that paint mess!
What's coming down the pike for Kallhoff Portrait? I'm in the works of developing a way to help fellow artists get their works photographed for web and jury shows. With everyone having extra time, creatives are creating tons of works...and since we are all in this together, I may as well lend my skill set to the mix. Look for an announcement on when that exchange will happen and be sure to share with your artist friends.
For now, enjoy the picture of spring on our mountain. Fresh air, new buds and flowers popping up gives me hope that better days are just another sunrise away!
