What a difference a week makes. Our county fortunately does not have any confirmed cases of COVID-19, but we are all on mandatory 'stay at home' orders. It appears that on Monday at 5pm, the Governor will be closing the NC borders to any out of state or unnecessary travels. It is a scary time, but I'm thankful that we have the ability to be at home, at 3200 elevation, with no neighbors. By nature, we are in isolation!
Mountain Mark has been working hard at getting rid of the burn pile that got A BIT out of control! It looks like today is the day it will be gone. He has worked super hard on getting our property cleaned up and now the remnants of the mess will be gone. The other day, our neighbor Bill came up the hill with the big boy toys and dug the hole for our pond and dug out one area to create a new flat parking area and used the fill to flatten another area to park. This amazing 80 year old man got more done in 3 hours than we could have hoped to have gotten done in 2 years! The water feature pond is finished and provides that little piece of home that I missed from our SD home https://www.facebook.com/heatherkallhoff/videos/10158178020635903/
As for me, I'm falling in love with being in my art room again. After a thorough cleaning, and getting a few custom orders finished, I have been learning some new skills. Spinner rings have been on my 'wish to learn' list. First one done and posted https://www.wherethewindblowsart.com/the-store1/product/fingers/3-band-sterling-silver-spinner-ring and I hope to work on some new styles. In cleaning up the art room, I found a HUGE STASH of lovely pearls and beads. After being inspired by some of my favorite artists, I decided to create some accent necklaces that are hand knotted. They can be added to statement necklaces as accents or stacked at various levels like Chandelier necklaces and even taken and wrapped around your wrist as an eclectic bracelet. I have absolutely fallen in love with them! Look for them to join the site soon...
In the meantime of this crazy Pandemic world, Mountain Mark and I will just 'keep on keepin on' and we wish the same for you. Create something in this unexpected time off, attack those projects that you never get time to do but most of all...take time to create memories with your family. Stay safe and healthy friends...xoxoxo Heather
